COVID-19 Update

Apr 2021

We are back to live singing – at last!

And we have a new all-weather venue!
James at The Pig & Whistle has made us very welcome and we are now meeting there for both the afternoon and evening sessions.

Current best practice is to sing with appropriate spacing and still retaining masks for the time being.
Fiona asks that attendees use KN-95 masks (available at most chemists or Fiona keeps a supply available for purchase on the day)

Fiona regularly runs two singing groups on or near the Mornington Peninsula. They are run on the same principles as her workshops and special events using great music from a wide variety of sources. There is no need for auditions, musical knowledge, or experience as all songs are taught by ear and sung acapella. Fiona provides a welcoming and encouraging environment in which to sing and have fun. The aim is to have fun whilst making lovely music, as well as keeping it low stress: we don’t work towards performances. (From time to time performances may be possible but they are not compulsory).

If you have been singing all your life, that is fantastic and we would love to have you join us, but if you have only ever been a bathroom singer (and singing in the shower is not to be under estimated!) that is fine too and we would love you to join us.

Afternoon Group: Larking About

Thursday afternoons at 2:00 pm we meet to sing at the Pig & Whistle Pub (365 Purves Road, Main Ridge). It is a wonderfully enthusiastic group whose members spend almost as much time laughing as they do singing. The session usually finishes with a drink or two in the lovely gardens of this fabulous English-style pub.

Evening Group: Jongleurs

Thursday evenings, there is a great group who meet at 7:30 pm for a few hours of singing and merriment, finishing off with a drink and a chat. Jongleurs is now also meeting at the Pig & Whistle (365 Purves Road, Main Ridge).
